Move-Out Cleaning Checklist for Sugar Land Homes
By Spotless House Cleaning Sugar Land · Published
Book move-out cleaning after the furniture and belongings are gone, with the water and power still on and easy access for the team. Our empty-home checklist covers everything in a deep clean plus the inside of cabinets, drawers, the fridge and the oven. A clean cannot promise a deposit refund or fix damage.
When should the cleaners come during a move?
If the clean happens while furniture is still in the house, floors, closets and baseboards are hard to reach. Schedule it after the movers and any repair work, and leave a buffer before you hand over the keys so you can look the place over. If a painter or handyman comes back afterward, decide ahead of time who handles the fresh dust.
Leave the utilities on until the clean is done. Share the door code, any alarm details and parking rules for your neighborhood. If you are moving in, try to fit the clean before your furniture arrives, and avoid booking movers and cleaners for the same block of time.
What should the kitchen look like before the clean?
Our move-out clean includes the inside of the fridge, freezer, oven, microwave, cabinets and drawers, so clear out food and belongings first. Mention heavy grease, a broken appliance or a frosted-up freezer before booking. Cleaners clean appliances but do not repair or take them apart.
Counters, the sink, cabinet fronts, the stovetop and the floor are all part of the kitchen reset. If your landlord or buyer gave you a checklist, send it to us early, since it may list items outside a normal residential move-out clean.
- Empty all cabinets, drawers and pantry shelves.
- Clear food and loose items out of the fridge and freezer.
- Plan how leftover furniture and trash will be hauled away.
- Point out natural stone, unusual finishes or anything already broken.
Bathrooms, closets and the rest of the house
Your walk-through should cover toilets, sinks, mirrors, tubs and showers, reachable fixtures, baseboards, switches and floors. Closets need empty shelves and clear floors so we can clean them fully. The checklist handles reachable detail surfaces but cannot turn scuffed paint or worn flooring into new.
Take your own photos after the clean and before anyone else goes in. Compare the finished home with the agreed checklist and bring up anything that looks missed right away. Keep repair questions separate from cleaning questions so there is a clear record of each.
Which jobs need a separate service?
Carpet shampooing, painting, repairs and junk hauling are separate jobs. A garage sweep and interior windows can be added to your clean, but neither is included automatically. Confirm those pieces instead of assuming a move-out clean covers every item a landlord might want.
No cleaning company decides whether your deposit comes back. What you can control is a clear, agreed cleaning scope and a home ready for inspection. Use our checklist to plan the work, then call or text with the home size, condition and your move-out date.
